Gabberhood is a community for sharing local news, events, and conversations. To keep our platform welcoming and safe for everyone, we ask that all users follow these guidelines. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: content that breaks these rules is removed, and repeat or serious offenders lose access to Gabberhood.
Community Guidelines
Prohibited Content
The following content is not allowed and will be removed:
- Hate speech — Content that attacks individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other aspects of identity. This applies no matter which group is targeted.
- Harassment and bullying — Targeted attacks, threats, or sustained campaigns against individuals.
- Violence and threats — Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence, or makes threats against anyone.
- Illegal content — Content that promotes illegal activities or facilitates illegal transactions.
- Sexual content — Explicit sexual content, including images, videos, or solicitation. Any sexual content involving minors is removed, the account is suspended, and we report it where the law requires — see our Child Safety Standards.
- Spam and manipulation — Excessive self-promotion, fake engagement, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
- Doxxing — Publishing private information about individuals without their consent.
Moderation Process
We use a combination of AI-powered tools and human review to moderate content. When content is flagged:
- Content is reviewed against our policies
- If it violates our guidelines, it may be removed or hidden
- The author is notified of any action taken
- Repeated violations may result in account restrictions
Our goal is to be fair and transparent. We aim to protect the community while respecting free expression.
Appeals Process
If you believe your content was removed in error, you can appeal the decision:
- Go to the removed content notification
- Click "Appeal this decision"
- Provide context for why you believe the removal was incorrect
Your feedback helps us continually improve our content policies. We'll review your appeal and notify you of the outcome.
Reporting Content
If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it:
- Tap the three-dot menu on the post or comment
- Select "Report"
- Choose the reason that best describes the violation
- Submit the report
Reports are anonymous. The person you reported will not know who reported them.
