An e-bike exploded on the front porch of a two-family on Broad Street Monday around 6:30, fire out by 7, two residents checked by the first aid squad and both declined transport. County hazmat hauled off the battery. Dead batteries go on the electronics shelf at the Transfer Station, not the trash.

Scary, and I charge mine in the hallway, so this hit close to home. Does anyone know if the fire department said what caused it, like a non-manufacturer charger or just an old battery?
