Good to know these are walk-in, but does the health department do anything for folks who are homebound and can't get to Hillside Ave at all?

Yes, init, the Health Department does offer flu vaccines to homebound residents, you just contact them directly, 973-535-7961 ext. 7108, 7109 or 7110.
