SOPD addressed it in their release, authorities don't believe there's a credible ongoing threat to the public, and they're still coordinating with Newark and the county prosecutor while it stays an active case.

The casing turned up on Kenmore in Newark, about 100 yards off, so the round traveled a good distance before it hit that door. A witness saw a car head south on Holland toward South Orange Ave. SOPD detective bureau is 973-763-3000 x7794.
